| Based in the centre of Oxford, Oxford Computer
Consultants Ltd (OCC) was founded in 1989 by its existing co-Directors,
Dr. John Boyle (Managing Director) and Mr. Kaz Librowski (Technical
Director) |
 |
Initially, projects focussed
on knowledge management and engineering applications;
however, in the early 1990s, OCC created advanced database
systems to track Community Care resources for several local
authorities including Westminster City Council, the London
Borough of Waltham Forest and Rochdale Metropolitan Borough Council,
amongst others. |
| WHAT
MAKES US STAND OUT FROM THE REST? |
OCC has three main attributes which make
it unique:
1. Robust, reliable, custom-built software delivered
on time and within budget:
The Directors’ original research in cognitive modelling ensures that
OCC’s products have a sound theoretical underpinning which map closely
onto the way people work. Their strategy of balancing highly innovative research
and development with a steady flow of customised software designs and consultancy
ensures our developers remain at the forefront of emerging technological developments
whilst developing our core strengths.
2. Direct, dedicated product support:
Even more important to our success, however, are OCC’s people. An important
part of our philosophy is to work in partnership with clients and this requires,
in our view, direct contact between OCC consultants and our clients from the
start of a project. Consequently, 80% of our business is generated by existing
customers. Customer survey results indicate strong satisfaction with the quality
of our people and their capabilities as well as with our products, pricing
and services. A list of referees are available to prospective clients for third
party verification.
3. Socially responsible culture:
OCC's culture is based on the fundamental tenet that the company's IT solutions
and services should bring value to clients and to the local community in a
socially responsible way. We manage operations that involve clean technology
and actively pursue research and development and/or commercial projects that
involve using IT technology to address major societal and healthcare problems
with the aim of improving quality of life.
This careful management of people and projects ensures
we continue to enjoy our reputation for providing excellent quality
services to our customers, partners and user bases of over 100,000
throughout Europe, the Far East and the USA.
